Hiring a New Employee

Hiring a New Employee

Points that need attention from both employers and employees when hiring a new employee! What documents will I need, what should we pay attention to, will I sign something, what salary will I get?

These are some of the questions that concern all new hires and especially young people working for the first time!

So let’s start with what documents you will need to have with you in a new hiring but also what employers should ask for!

So you should have:

Copy of Police ID
Copy of AMKA, Α.Μ. IKA and A.F.M.
In-person presence
Stamps for any previous service

We will make a further analysis of the importance of personal presence as well as previous service.

So when the employer calls you to proceed with the recruitment or will tell you to go through the accounting of the company, then it is good to be informed! Once your details are registered and before the hiring is done, it will be good to see and sign the employment contract first.

The employment contract contains all the information you need to know (salary, working hours, breaks, etc.) before taking office. Whatever you agree with your employer you can ask to be included in the contract before signing it as well as ask for clarifications if you do not understand something. Of course, it is worth noting here that most contracts are “standardized” through programs used by accounting firms and in case of additional terms are usually mentioned separately.

The reason for the personal presence in the above process is that both the employee and the employer are protected in this way. A process that no one can undo! I therefore emphasize that due to labor legislation in order to make a recruitment electronically there is no need for a signature, we must nevertheless have the written consent of the employee in order to avoid various “tricks” in the process.

If you have previous service (badge) in the same specialty that concerns your recruitment, or in any other specialty, it would be good to have them with you. The responsibility for the proof of previous service lies with the employee and not the employer. Note here that according to the current legal framework, the previous service that someone has until 14/02/2012 is counted. So we start counting the years of service from the date of notification for this, if this happens at some point after recruitment you will have to sign a statement to certify the date of notification.

In the next article we will analyze the content of an employment contract and what it should include. In any case, it would be good to consult either as an employer or as an employee your accountant so that he fully understands you because each company and each new hiring has different parameters that must be considered.
